President Trump is ending DACA — the program that provides critical deportation protection and work authorization to nearly 800,000 Dreamers who have passed a rigorous background check, paid a fee and are currently in school, active duty or the workforce. The consequences of ending DACA without a legislative solution will be devastating:
• An average of 1,400 new DACA recipients every single business day, for the next two years.
• Every single Dreamer will be subject to immediate deportation, often to countries they cannot even remember.
• It will cost the U.S. economy $460.3 billion over the next decade.
Congress can and must act to give Dreamers the permanent legislative solution they deserve. Inaction is
unacceptable. Congress must bring a bipartisan DREAM Act to a vote right now.
